NICOLETTA M. RANIERI

Biography
Nicoletta Ranieri provides strategic, personalized legal counsel aligned with each client's business objectives. With experience spanning both the Canadian and U.S. markets, she brings a practical, commercially minded approach to her practice and is deeply committed to achieving meaningful outcomes for her clients.
Prior to founding Ranieri Law, Nicoletta gained valuable experience as in-house counsel to a luxury goods and jewelry company and as an associate at a boutique intellectual property and business law firm in New York City. Earlier in her career, she worked with law firms and companies across the entertainment, media, and fashion industries, including Coach. These experiences have shaped her business-oriented perspective and her ability to advise clients with a nuanced understanding of both legal risk and commercial realities.
Nicoletta is actively engaged in diversity and inclusion initiatives, with a particular focus on advancing women, gender equality, racial equity, and support for underserved communities. She is also a dedicated advocate against bullying. Nicoletta serves on boards and committees related to intellectual property, the proliferation of education and learning, and cancer research and awareness.

A core focus of Nicoletta's practice is guiding businesses on best practices to support sustainable growth while proactively identifying and mitigating legal risks. She advises start-ups from incorporation through scale, and works closely with established companies on governance, internal policies, risk management, and expansion strategies.
Talent Negotiations & Deals
Nicoletta has advised artists and creatives at every stage of the creative process, from development through commercialization and exploitation. Her experience includes negotiating and drafting a broad range of agreements, including talent, licensing, consulting, production, recording, work-for-hire, non-disclosure, and release agreements.
Global Brand Enforcement
Nicoletta regularly works with foreign counsel on global brand protection, enforcement, and expansion initiatives. She has extensive experience in trademark prosecution and portfolio management, including searches and clearances, advising on registrability and availability, filing and prosecuting trademark applications, responding to Office Actions, managing renewals, and supporting anti-counterfeiting strategies.

ROLAND BATTISTINI

Biography
Roland Battistini provides results-driven legal counsel focused on the protection, registration, and enforcement of trademarks and intellectual property. With over twenty-five years of experience helping both Canadian and international clients, he works with businesses to safeguard what are often their most valuable assets– their trademarks.
Roland’s experience has spanned the full range of trademark practice. He has helped clients determine the availability of trademarks for use and registration, prepared and filed applications, responded to government reports and notices, and guided applications through to registration. He has represented clients in opposition proceedings, in Section 45 proceedings, and in litigation before the Canadian Intellectual Property Office, the Federal Court of Canada, and the Federal Court of Appeal.
Roland has helped both start-ups and large corporations with trademark registrability, strategy, and portfolio management. He has advised clients on legal risk and helped them acquire long-term brand security. Roland has helped draft and negotiate intellectual property agreements. He has protected clients receiving cease and desist notices, and he has helped clients enforce their own trademark rights.
Beyond his primary legal practice, Roland’s wide range of experience gives him a unique understanding of his clients and their goals, helping him align legal strategies with commercial objectives. Roland has managed business and legal affairs for a marketing and AI company. As a certified business coach, he has mentored and advised lawyers and business owners. He has volunteered with charity and non-profit organizations involved in education, music, culture, supporting seniors, and helping underserved communities. He has had the privilege of serving as chief strategist and campaign manager in a federal Canadian election. As a member of SOCAN, Roland’s music has been used in the programming of major television networks, and he has advised artists on the protection of their intellectual property.

Biography
Antaneeta Mariathas Anthony is an intellectual property lawyer whose practice focuses on helping innovators, entrepreneurs, and businesses protect, manage, and commercialize their intellectual property. She provides strategic legal advice across a broad range of intellectual property matters, with experience supporting patent drafting and prosecution, intellectual property strategy, and intellectual property enforcement and disputes.
Antaneeta has experience supporting a wide range of patent matters, including patent drafting, prosecution, infringement analysis, and enforcement strategy. She has assisted with the preparation of patent applications and supported the prosecution of patent matters before the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO) and the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Her experience includes assisting with responses to Office Actions, claim amendments, patentability assessments, prior art searches, and advising on patent protection strategies across a broad range of technologies, including biotechnology, artificial intelligence, software, fintech, blockchain, robotics, aerospace systems, medical devices, and consumer products.
In addition to patent prosecution, Antaneeta has contributed to intellectual property enforcement and disputes by supporting litigation counsel in patent infringement matters. She has assisted in evaluating infringement issues, identifying evidentiary considerations, and developing intellectual property enforcement strategies. She works with inventors, engineers, scientists, technical professionals, and business stakeholders to develop intellectual property strategies that support innovation and align with commercial objectives.
Antaneeta previously served as a Fellow with the IP Innovation Clinic at Osgoode Hall Law School, where she advised entrepreneurs and emerging businesses on patentability assessments, trademark availability searches, intellectual property strategy, and innovation commercialization. Her scientific background, combined with her legal training and experience across diverse technologies, enables her to provide practical, commercially focused advice tailored to each client's business and innovation goals.

Biography
Lisa Georges is a Legal Intern at Ranieri Law. She is currently pursuing a double major in Political Science and Criminology & Sociolegal Studies at the University of Toronto, where she has developed a strong interest in legal systems, public policy, and sociolegal issues.
Lisa is passionate about expanding her knowledge of the legal profession and gaining practical experience within a dynamic boutique law firm environment. Throughout her internship, she will assist with legal research, drafting, and administrative support across the firm's business and commercial, entertainment and media, and intellectual property law practice areas.
She is eager to further develop her analytical, research, and professional skills while contributing to the continued growth and success of Ranieri Law and its clients.

EMMA DISANTO
LEGAL INTERN
Biography
Emma DiSanto is a Legal Intern at Ranieri Law. She is currently pursuing a Global Professional Master of Laws (GPLLM) at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law.
Emma earned her Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from Queen Mary University of London and is currently completing the NCA accreditation. She also holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto, where she double majored in Criminology and Media Studies.
Prior to joining Ranieri Law, Emma gained legal experience at a real estate law firm. At Ranieri Law, she contributes to the firm's business and commercial, intellectual property, and entertainment and media practices, assisting with legal research, drafting, case analysis, and the development of practical legal solutions for client matters.
