Biography

Nicoletta Ranieri offers personalized consultations tailored to each of her clients' business objectives. She has a diverse background in the Canadian and U.S. industries and is passionate about her clients’ cases. 

Prior to starting her law firm, Nicoletta gained invaluable experience as in-house counsel to a luxury goods/jewelry company and as an associate at a boutique intellectual property and business law firm in New York City. Her experiences have shaped the manner in which she serves her clients and their end goals. Throughout her early career, she worked at various law firms and companies within the entertainment, media and fashion industries, including Coach.

Nicoletta is committed to diversity and inclusion initiatives, some of which include women, gender equality, race and the underprivileged. She is also an avid advocate and proponent against bullying. She currently serves on boards and committees devoted to IP, the proliferation of education and learning, and cancer research and awareness.

An important aspect of Nicoletta's practice has been focused on guiding businesses with respect to best practices and helping them realize their maximum potential while also recognizing and mitigating unforeseen risks. This entails guiding start-ups from incorporation to fruition, as well as working with seasoned companies and advising on internal policies and procedures through to expansion. 

Talent Negotiations & Deals

Nicoletta has worked with artists at every stage of the creative process from development to delivery and exploitation. She has negotiated and drafted a variety of talent, licensing, consulting, production and recording agreements, as well as non-disclosures, releases and work-for-hires. 

Global Brand Enforcement

Nicoletta has also handled matters and worked closely with foreign counsel with respect to global brand enforcement, protection, expansion and anti-counterfeiting initiatives. She has been actively involved in all aspects of trademark prosecution, including searches and clearances, counseling on the availability and registrability of new trademarks, as well as the preparation and filing of trademark applications, Office Action responses and renewals.
